For welfare organisations & authorities

The Access You Need.
Nothing You Don't.

Verified welfare organisations and authorised agencies receive secure, role-based access to the information needed to help reunite lost pets with their keepers. Every lookup is recorded, fully auditable and linked to the authorised user who carried it out.

Eligibility

Who Can Apply

Access is available to verified organisations and professionals with a legitimate animal welfare or statutory purpose. Every application is reviewed to ensure access is granted only to authorised organisations and eligible users.

Rescues & rehoming centres

Charities and rescue organisations that take in stray, surrendered or seized animals and need to trace registered keepers.

Dog wardens

Local authority dog wardens and contracted stray-dog services carrying out their statutory duties.

Local authorities

Council teams with animal-welfare, licensing or enforcement functions who need to verify chip records in the course of their work.

Veterinary practices

Registered veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses can access microchip records when caring for lost, injured or stray animals, as well as during routine treatment or where there are animal welfare concerns.

Verification

Verified Before First Search

1

Apply for your organisation

Tell us who you are, what the organisation does and why you need access. One account per organisation, with named individual users under it.

2

Provide evidence

Charity registration, local authority credentials, RCVS practice details or equivalent. Whatever establishes that you are who you say you are, doing what you say you do.

3

Manual review & approval

A member of our team reviews every application before any access is granted. We may contact your organisation directly to confirm.

4

Purpose-limited access begins

Approved users can search chip numbers for reunification and welfare purposes only, and each search records who searched, when, and why.

How access works

Minimum Necessary, Fully Audited

Minimum-necessary disclosure

A verified search returns the least contact information needed for the purpose at hand. Enough to reach the keeper and reunite the animal, never the keeper's full record.

Every search is logged

Each lookup is recorded against the individual user who made it, with a timestamp and stated purpose. Keepers can see that their record was accessed, and the trail is available for audit.

Misuse has consequences

Unusual search patterns are flagged for review, access is suspended while misuse is investigated, and confirmed misuse ends the organisation's access. Where the law has been broken, we cooperate with the authorities.
