Microchipping is a regulated activity. Under the current regulations, only suitably trained and competent individuals may implant a microchip, and only authorised users can register allocated microchips on the Aegis Pet Hub database.
Registered veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses acting under appropriate direction are qualified to implant microchips as part of their professional training and registration.
Non-veterinary implanters must hold approved training that meets the requirements of the Regulations, covering implantation technique, animal handling and record-keeping.
As part of your application, we'll ask for proof of your qualification or training and proof of identity. Every application is reviewed by a member of our team before access is approved, ensuring only verified professionals can use the platform.

Once approved you get access to the implanter portal: your chip allocations, registrations, records and agreement all in one place. Once you have been approved your welcome pack including 20 microchips, record booklets and some other goodies will automatically be sent to you.

Every microchip you order through Aegis Pet Hub is allocated directly to your account. From allocation and implantation to registration, each microchip is fully traceable, helping maintain accurate records and supporting accountability at every stage.
Every implanted microchip should be registered promptly with the correct pet and keeper details. Our portal guides you through the registration process at the point of implantation, making it quick, simple and accurate.
If a microchip is misfired, damaged or cannot be implanted, it should be recorded through the portal before being discarded. This ensures the microchip is retired correctly and keeps your allocated stock accurate and fully traceable.
If you become aware of an adverse reaction, microchip migration or a microchip failure, these incidents should be reported in line with the applicable regulations. Our portal makes the process straightforward by recording the details and guiding you through the required reporting steps.
When a keeper completes a paid registration for a microchip you have implanted, you'll earn commission on that registration. Your current commission rate, payment terms and earnings are always available in your implanter portal, ensuring you can view the latest information that applies to your account.
